Charles L. Schultze (1924-2016)

The American Economic Association and the economics profession were saddened to learn of the passing of Charles L. Schultze on Tuesday, September 27 at age 91. He served as AEA president in 1984, AEA vice president in 1975, and also on the AEA executive committee and the AEA committee on government relations. He was part of several presidential administrations, serving as the head of the Bureau of the Budget in the 1960s and chair of the Council of Economic Advisers under President Jimmy Carter.
