The Annual Meeting of the American Economic Association will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on January 4-6, 2019. This is a Friday/Saturday/Sunday meeting. Headquarters, registration and exhibits are in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Registration opens September 12th at https://conf.aeaweb.org. General meeting information is available on the AEA website at https://www.aeaweb.org/conference. All interview scheduling should be conducted prior to arrival in Atlanta. Job placement interview tables will be located at the Hilton Atlanta, Galleria Hall.
Important Registration Information: Convention Management Resources (CMR) will be the housing company for the 2019 meetings. Please take a minute to review the process for booking rooms and placing yourself on waitlists as needed.

The AEA's 2019 Continuing Education Program will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta on January 6 – 8, 2019, immediately following the close of ASSA. Participants can choose from three concurrent programs. Topics and speakers will include Cross-section Econometrics – James H. Stock (Harvard) and Mark W. Watson (Princeton); Inequality and Innovation – Ufuk Akcigit (Chicago) and Stefanie Stantcheva (Harvard); and International Trade – Dave Donaldson (MIT) and Marc Melitz (Harvard). AEA Summer Training Program & Scholarship Program increases diversity by preparing talented undergraduates for doctoral programs in Economics and related disciplines. Students receive 8 weeks of intensive training in microeconomics, mathematics, econometrics, and research methods with leading faculty hosted at Michigan State University in collaboration with Western Michigan University. The Ninth Annual AEA Conference on Teaching and Research in Economic Education (CTREE) is May 29 – May 31, 2019 at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch. The conference is hosted by the AEA Committee on Economic Education in conjunction with the Journal of Economic Education. Plenary talks will be given by Stephen Chew (Samford University), Robert Frank (Cornell University), Anne Winkler (University Missouri, St. Louis). Submissions will be accepted via the AEA online submission system. Submissions may be of individual papers, complete sessions of three or four papers, workshops, or panels. Submissions of completed sessions are especially encouraged. The submission portal opened September 1, and the submission deadline is December 1, 2018. Include a list of up to three broad areas in which you could participate as a discussant/session chair (e.g. interactive teaching, undergraduate research, assessment, online learning, etc.)
The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis will sponsor a pre-CTREE conference event at the Fed on Tuesday, May 28 from 12:30-6:30 p.m. This event will bring together a variety of Federal Reserve speakers and teaching professors on strategies for improving economic instruction, with sessions covering: Monetary policy in the 21st century, making the most of FRED and FREDcast in the classroom and using Excel to teach economics. Special sessions on women in economics and programming to support community college faculty will also be offered. A complimentary lunch will be served, and a reception will follow the day's events.
