US 2050 Call for Proposals
US 2050 is an initiative of the Peter G. Peterson Foundation and the Ford Foundation to examine and analyze the multiple demographic, socioeconomic, and fiscal trends that will shape the nation at mid-century. Engaging leading scholars in the areas of demographics, poverty studies, labor economics, macroeconomics, political science, and sociology, US 2050 will create a comprehensive view of our economic and fiscal future – and the implications for the social and financial well-being of Americans. The project is guided by an Advisory Committee, coordinated by the Brookings Institution’s Hutchins Center on Fiscal and Monetary Policy. Research will be developed throughout 2018 and presented at conference in early 2019. We are offering grants of between $25,000 and $50,000 for individual papers (inclusive of any university overhead charges), the size depending on the originality and ambition of the proposal. Proposals are due January 22, 2018.
